Unless the Lord builds the house…” – Psalm 127:1
Discipleship is about living not just learning. It's not just about teaching people about Jesus it’s about modeling what faith in Jesus looks like. That’s why relationships are such a key part of small group. Discipleship isn’t taught in the classroom, it’s modeled in every day life. The top discipleship process is more than teaching people the right knowledge about God. A disciple models him or her self after the person who is doing the discipling or the person making disciples of Jesus and it goes beyond teaching facts about Jesus. It means teaching people how to know Jesus and be like Jesus; to obey God and seek his best for their lives.
Jenine was my teacher in small group. We spent time with each other every week, in prayer, and Bible Study for about a year and a half. Now I am taking over our Bible Study class and I am following in Jenine's steps. She disciples me, and I now disciple our small group. But first and foremost we had to establish a relationship with each other and while we were forming a relationship, we also prayed and studied the Word of God.
Jenine is very much into discipleship and helping others to follow Jesus and spending time in prayer and studying the Word of God.
